Annual sales conference in Kathmandhu demonstrates support for education in Nepal

Cambridge University Press India, formerly Foundation Books, is no stranger to Nepal and the Nepalese academic circuit. The office has been working very closely with the Nepal Secondary board for 10 + 2 students and ELT circles since 1996.

They have been supporting education in Nepal for almost 13 years now and have carved out a name for Cambridge University Press. Various books are prescribed for 10 + 2 certificate level, B.Ed, M.Ed and lots of other courses of Kathmandu University and Tribhuvan University.

Several private institutions also use Cambridges English language teaching books and courses on English communications training for all the four skills- reading, writing, listening and speaking.

Cambridge University Press India publishes high quality books specially for the subcontinent at very affordable prices. As well as this, they have published a lot of books for the first time at very affordable prices, specially for the Nepal market, like Meaning into Words/ Reading Between the Lines.

The prices of these titles have remained unchanged in the last 10 years. In spite of the spiralling costs of printing and paper in India and China the prices of these texts have not increased as these are essential texts for the students.

This year, Cambridge University Press India held their Annual Sales Conference in Kathmandu, demonstrating Cambridges support for education in Nepal.

One of the issues discussed at the sales conference was piracy, which can be detrimental to providing world class study materials at affordable prices. Cambridge University Press India issued an appeal to the student, academic & bookselling community in Nepal to buy and sell only genuine prescribed textbooks, which can be easily identified by the hologram, which is on the cover of all the special Nepal editions.
