Cambridge Studies in Contentious Politics

Back to Politics, social theory, history of ideas

Editors: Mark Beissinger, Jack A. Goldstone, Doug McAdam, Suzanne Staggenborg, Sidney Tarrow, Charles Tilly, Elisabeth J. Wood, Deborah Yashar

Cambridge Studies in Contentious Politics breaks apart the narrow disciplinary and subfield boundaries that have fragmented the study of both traditional social movements and their non-routine politics. The exploration of noninstitutionalized political actions, including revolutions, democratization, cycles of protest, and ethnic conflicts, enables the connections between a wide array of political and social phenomena to be examined in national, comparative, and global perspective.
