Summary
This chapter provides a listing of specialist books, star atlases, magazine articles, etc., for use/further reading. These are mostly itemised under the same headings as the chapters in this book. A limited listing of equipment suppliers and national astronomical societies/associations is also included. The author and publisher wish to point out that one manufacturer's products are not recommended above another's, here. This listing is merely for information purposes and does not constitute any form of endorsement of the services or products provided by any individual company. Consequently the author and publisher cannot be held responsible for any disputes which may arise between any purchaser and any named company.
Astronomy on the internet
There is now a mind-boggling array of web-sites that may be of interest and use to the amateur astronomer. I recommend reading the article ‘Astronomy on the Internet’ in the August 1995 issue of Sky & Telescope magazine, as a start. However, it might be of some use to give one important address here. IAU circulars can be found on E-Mail:
iausubs@cfa.harvard.edu
This is the same address for reporting discoveries (see also Chapter 10).
