• This section offers starting points for international students studying in the UK. This is a very broad term and can encompass individuals with varying degrees of experience of the language and culture.
• Common issues may relate both to language skills (advice on grammar and proofreading) as well as academic standards expected by the British education system. Many questions relating to coursework are shared by UK residents and are covered in the Study Skills chapter. Also relevant are the Literature Searching and Reference Management chapters. The Modern Languages chapter has links to useful dictionaries and translation tools.
