Starting points
• Students are increasingly asking for advice on skills relating to studying and writing. Some international students may come from an education system with different expectations. New and mature students may feel uncertain about their existing skills.
• Many universities have student advice centres that create or recommend their own materials, including apps. The resources listed below cover the key topics of Presentation skills, Time management and Writing. Other good sources are in the Courses and Qualifications chapter as general study skills resources are often available. Presentation skills
Students may need to prepare for group presentations and seminars and PhD and early career researchers for posters or lectures.
