About the CD
Summary
The accompanying CD is a mirror of the book; however, the links are “live” in the sense that if the reader is connected to the Internet while using the CD then he or she will be able to access the websites, articles and other e-sources that are mentioned in the text. The readers, though, should know that the different Internet applications (Web, emails, chat rooms, etc.) are fluid and in constant flux, which implies that some links may be “dead” by the time of publication. There are a number of reasons for such an eventuality, as for example, the website(s) may have moved to a different Internet provider which means that the URL(s) have changed, or the website(s) may have been removed from the Web. Regarding religious websites, if the existing URL provides no access, then the reader could: (a) either use the title of the website (e.g. “Dominican Voodoo”) to find the site or relevant information or, (b) visit the Internet archive (http://www.archive.org/) and find the site there. Searching the Internet is very time consuming and, as mentioned in Chapter 3 on Web epistemology, there are a number of issues that the researcher has to take into account.
