Summary

The following lists all professional English-language science-fiction magazines and series anthologies covered by this volume together with issue and editorial details. It also covers relevant fantasy and weird fiction associational titles including many small-press and semi- professional magazines. It excludes magazines that concentrate solely on horror or macabre fiction and also those which are totally non-fiction. It also excludes comics, though Heavy Metalis listed.

Titles are listed in alphabetical order. Individual issues are listed for each year together with a cumulative total at the end of each column. This total relates to specific physical issues and not the issue number itself, where double issues are often counted as two. The cumulative total continues from those detailed in Volumes 1 and 2. Dates shown are cover dates. The list overlaps slightly with the previous volume and starts in January 1970. The cut-off date for this volume is December 1980, though issues for 1981 or 1982 are shown if discussed in the text.

Months are abbreviated to their first three characters. Seasonal dates are shown as Spr (Spring), Sum (Summer), Aut or Fal (Autumn or Fall), Win (Winter). Seasonal issues and undated issues are shown in the column corresponding to the month of sale. Combined months are shown as Jan/ Feb, etc. Reprint editions are not listed unless their contents vary signifi-cantly. All magazines are published in the United States unless otherwise noted.
