Summary
I came round naked in darkness
under the rubble of a house,
ran through fire towards
a river, plunging in.
Soldiers later fished me out.
And because I was a famous beauty
they got me to Tokyo by train
for Dr Tsuzuki to establish through me
the true nature of the sickness
in which my great black hair fell out,
my white corpuscles thinned,
my temperature ripped to 41,
my pulse hit 158, my body crisped,
and I, Midora Naka,
of the famous Cherryblossom Theatre
became a feather.
