Summary
This chapter looks at some further general advice that is applicable to all specialties about how to generate relevant evidence for the CESR portfolio. The previous chapters have detailed what evidence is required. This chapter gives practical guidance about how this can be achieved in the workplace. Collecting primary evidence that gives an assessor a clear picture of an applicant’s working style and quality is an art which will hold one in good stead – not just for a CESR application but for their entire future careers. There will be appraisals and clinical excellence awards. The CESR portfolio gets one thinking about their work, how it is documented beyond someone’s testimonial and reference and how it can be presented as a coherent account to an assessor who has never met the applicant.
