Summary
An opening or an opening of an opening. A junction between two nerve cells. The most distant thing you can see with the naked eye. A spasm or a gap, the residue on a stylus that makes a record jump. The term used for the hardening of infant gums during teething. The first blind rooting tips of a shoot. The effect of moonlight on an oblong pond and an early word for virgin wool. An out of fashion raised crossstitch (often associated with shrouds). A neglected silk worm that dies in its cocoon. The foul breath of an exotic bird, most commonly the peacock. Things you may find in winter boots, clouds of tissue, a set of long laces tied with a reef knot, perishing bands of elastic.
