Summary
Es ist mehi als wahrscheinlich, class diese Klasse (Brugmanns zweite) bereits in der Urzeit in zwei Klassen auseinander gegangen war, welche sich sowohl durch den Accent als durch die Aktion unterschieden. Doch ist eine völlige Trennung, wie sich im Verlauf der Darstellung noch zeigen wird, unmöglich, da es Formen giebt, welche die Aktion der einen Abtheilung mit dem Accent der anderen verbinden.
Ich behandle zuerst diejenige Klasse, welche den Accent auf der ersten Silbe trägt, den Typus bhávati, dann den Typus tudáti, und schliesse daran, wie es in dem vorigen Kapitel geschehen ist, die Aoriste.
Die Präsentia
Der Typus bhávati.
Dieser Typus hat gemischte Aktion. Der durative Sinn, den man ihm gewöhnlich beilegt, ist zwar auch durch eine Anzahl von Exemplaren veitreten, aber keineswegs durchgehend. Ein Prösens wie πεùγω, das bei Homer noch fliehen und entfliehen bedeutet, hat die ausgesprochen kursive Bedeutung (auf der Flucht sein), die es nach allgemeiner Ansicht im Attischen hat, erst im empfundenen Gegensatz gegen επvγov zu solcher Schärfe ausgebildet.
Ich gebe zunächst einige Belege für Mehrdeutigkeit des Präsens, dann für die kursive Aktion, endlich für die punktuelle, die allerdings nur geringe Spuren hinterlassen hat.
