ni dignificarse. Debemos tener de nosotras un
concepto más superior y más altivo. Y en nosotras ha
de haber una aspiración más alta que esa menguada
aspiración a emular e imitar al otro sexo.

Es significativo que Federica Montseny recurriera al léxico del mundo de la costura (el patrón y el figurín) como metáfora del proceso de construcción de la mujer del futuro, ya que durante los años veinte la inestabilidad de la diferenciación sexual encontró en el cuerpo y la vestimenta de la garçonne una imagen concreta por la que canalizar miedos, fantasías, esperanzas y deseos.
