The climate news is grim. The global average surface temperature has warmed at a rapid rate over the past few decades; extreme climate events are now routine; and the world's carbon dioxide concentrations and sea levels continue to rise steadily, even as critical carbon sinks, like forests, decline. This webinar focuses on the mechanisms in international law for addressing climate change, and on the impediments to and prospects for positive change. Panelists analyze the dynamics not only in the international legal regime that specifically targets climate change but also in other areas of international law, such as trade and human rights, that are being harnessed for the cause.
