Call for applications: Editor-in-Chief of Animal Health Research Reviews

Animal Health Research Reviews (AHRR) provides an international forum for the publication of reviews and commentaries on all aspects of animal health. The journal covers all facets of animal health and science, including but not limited to both infectious and non- infectious diseases in domestic and wild animals. Articles may be in-depth reviews of a specific aspect of a disease or pathogen, or may cover all aspects of a disease.

AHRR is fully peer reviewed, and publishes Reviews, Systematic Reviews, and Opinion pieces.

Editorial responsibilities

The editorial responsibilities of the Editor-in-Chief will include:

  • Shaping the strategic direction of the journal, in cooperation with Cambridge, and the journal’s Section Editors.
  • Developing and/or updating the journal’s editorial policy, in cooperation with Cambridge and the journal’s Section Editors.
  • Having overall responsibility for the quality and rigour of the content published in the journal.
  • Managing the peer review process using ScholarOne system, alongside a team of Section Editors, and making final article acceptance decisions on assigned manuscripts.
  • Recruiting and engaging with members of the Editorial Board.
  • Attending regular editorial meetings.
  • Representing and promoting the journal globally and at events where you might be in attendance (e.g., workshops, symposia, conferences).
  • Commissioning content for submission to the journal.


Term

The Editor-in-Chief will serve for an initial 3-year term (2024-2026) starting on 1 January 2024, with the option of renewing for another term.

Honorarium

The Editor-in-Chief will receive annual honorarium of £3,000.
