New Research at Skales Cave near Praisos

Published online by Cambridge University Press:  27 September 2013

Abstract

Excavations conducted at the cave in 1983 are described. These revealed traces of use in the Neolithic period. There is evidence of bronze age occupation, and for cult use in the Late Minoan period. The cave was not used as a burial place until the Protogeometric period.
