Antimicrobial Stewardship & Healthcare Epidemiology (ASHE) is seeking thoughtful and novel contributions on the topics below. Each ASHE Associate Editor has oversight of an individual topic. Submissions may be either original research, commentaries, or reviews.
- Implementation and sustainability of diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, including cost analyses and return on investment of stewardship interventions
- Opportunities to scale-up antimicrobial stewardship by involving a broader range of disciplines to deliver and promote stewardship
- Antimicrobial stewardship in pediatric populations with focus on diagnostic stewardship
- Antimicrobial stewardship implementation and practice in rural vs. urban settings
- Antimicrobial stewardship implementation in LMICs
- Antimicrobial stewardship in special populations: community/outpatient and urgent care settings, dental practices, post-acute care (long-term care, skilled nursing facilities, LTACs, nursing homes, etc.), immunocompromised populations; palliative care/hospice (e.g., “end of life stewardship); post-operative care
- Diagnostic stewardship incorporating microbiology, research, and laboratory science expertise; cost-analyses of molecular technologies vs. traditional testing
- “How to” applications of diagnostic stewardship
- Infection prevention: comprehensive or holistic views of isolations precautions and active surveillance for MDROs
- PPE use, environmental impact, and policies to improve sustainability
- Microbiome science for advancement of infection prevention
- Different frameworks for antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention to partner with quality/safety and public health
