Nutrition and the aging eye

In a nutshell
Macular degeneration of aging has nutritional links, particularly antioxidants (e.g. the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin) and possibly lipids (such as omega:3 fats).
Clinical trials have had mixed results, but include one large RCT that found benefit from an antioxidant mixture, in patients who had greater degrees of the condition.
