Dr. Burnside Foster, of St. Paul, a short time since sent me three Dipterous larvæ taken from the cutaneous tissue of a three-weeks-old infant, born on the seventh mont, at Superior, Wisconsin. I at first thought the insect to be Lucilia, but being in doubt, and having no biological collection in this group for reference, I immediately sent it to Washington, receiving a telegramin reply that Mr. Coquillett had identified it as Gastrophilus epilepsalis.
