In the Ent. Am.,1889, pp. 33–34, is a note by Mr. T. D. A. Cockerell, F.Z.S., “On the origin of the genus Anthocharis, Bdv., (= Euchloë, Hb.),” and from his remarks on p.34, it would appear that the larva of Pieris protodice and that of Anthocharis ausonides are practically identical, Mr. Cockerell's assumption being based on a letter received from Mr. W. H. Edwards.
