NEW SPECIES AND RECORDS OF “SMALL CARRION BEETLES” (COLEOPTERA: LEIODIDAE; CHOLEVINAE) FROM CAVES AND FORESTS OF CUBA AND HISPANIOLA

Abstract

Dissochaetus cubensissp.nov. is described from Cuba. New forest and cave records are given for the previously poorly known species Proptomaphaginus apodemus Szymczakowski and Proptomaphaginus darlingtoni (Jeannel) from Cuba and Proptomaphaginus hispaniolensis Peck from the Dominican Republic on the West Indian island of Hispaniola.

Résumé

On trouvera ici la description de Dissochaetus cubensi, sp.nov., de Cuba. Des espèces encore peu connues sont signalées à de nouveaux endroits, dans des grottes et en forêt : Proptomaphaginus apodemus Szymczakowski et Proptomaphaginus darlingtoni (Jeannel) à Cuba, Proptomaphaginus hispaniolensis Peck en République dominicaine, dans l’île d’Hispaniola, dans les Grandes Antilles.
