A NEW SPECIES OF CLEPSIS GUENÉE FROM THE NORTHERN YUKON TERRITORY (LEPIDOPTERA: TORTRICIDAE)

Abstract

A new species Clepsis (Siclobola) firthana is described from the northern Yukon Territory, Canada. Morphologically this species is closely related to the European C. strigana (Hübner) and the North American C. clemensiana (Fernald). Genitalic characters are given to distinguish C. firthana from the North American C. kearfotti Obraztsov and C. moeschleriana (Wocke) (which have similar markings), and C. clemensiana (Fernald).

Résumé

L’auteur décrit une nouvelle espèce, Clepsis (Siclobola) firthana en provenance du nord du Territoire du Yukon au Canada. Morphologiquement, cette espèce s’apparente étroitement aux espèces européenne C. strigana (Hübner) et nord-américaine C. clemensiana (Fernald). L’article présente certains caractères de distinction entre C. moeschleriana (Wocke) (qui possède des marques identiques) et C. clemensiana (Fernald).
