Abstract

The genus Hebrolethaeus Scudder is not monobasic, but contains five distinct species. H. aurantiacus (Distant) from New Caledonia is redescribed. The four other species described as new are H. albus from the New Hebrides, H. concisus from New Caledonia, H. nigrus from the Loyalty Islands, and H. pullus from New Caledonia. H. concisus is also recorded from Norfolk Island, and a key to species is presented.

Résumé

Le genre Hebrolethaeus Scudder n’est pas monobasique, comprenant cinq espèces distinctes. H. aurantiacus (Distant) de Nouvelle Calédonie est redécrite. Les quatres autres espèces décrites comme étant nouvelles sont H. albus des Nouvelles Hébrides, H. concisus de Nouvelle Calédonie, H. nigrus des Iles Loyauté, et H. pullus de Nouvelle Calédonie. H. concisus est aussi mentionnée pour l’Ile Norfolk, et une clé à l’espèce est fournie.
