DAVID CHRISTOPHERSEN writes about the remarkable life of his father, whose death on 30th December 1999 at 88, peacefully at home in Cambridge, England, brought to an end one of the last living links to the tradition of analytical grammar and philosophy associated with the great Danish Anglicist Otto Jespersen.
