* LD50—median lethal dose, is the milligrams of toxicant per kilogram of body weight that is lethal to 50% of the test animals to which it is administered under the conditions of the experiment.
† EC50—median effective concentration, is the concentration (ppm or ppb) of a toxicant in the environment (usually water) which produces a designated effect in 50% of the test organisms exposed.
