Call for Communications Editor
01 Feb 2022 to 31 Mar 2022

We are seeking a Communications Editor to join us to improve our social media presence and communications strategy.

Environmental Data Science is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published by Cambridge University Press dedicated to the use of data-driven approaches to understand environmental processes and aid sustainable decision-making.

As we gear up to publishing our first articles in March 2022, we are looking for an inventive Communications Editor with an interest in social media, blogs and other ways of developing an audience within this emerging data science - environmental science interface.

The Communications Editor will join the core team of people responsible for developing the journal, including the Editor-in-Chief - Professor Claire Monteleoni of University of Colorado Boulder - and the editorial and marketing contacts at Cambridge University Press.

We hope to identify someone with a background in the area who can develop our Twitter feed @EnvDataScience (with assistance), commission and edit blogs and help the journal's pre-print strategy.

The ideal candidate should be able to think strategically, plan effectively, know how to source content and work with images.

This is not a full-time role but we can provide a small annual payment. This may be an ideal opportunity for a postgraduate student in a relevant field

  • Experience building a social media and communications strategy (desirable)
