“Don't worry, this won't hurt me a bit.” I'll never forget that clever “joke” as my dentist proceeded to drill a hole in my tooth to replace a cavity with “amalgam.” Another tooth, filled with amalgam decades ago, had to be refilled because the amalgam had worn due to eating and other abuse over the years.
