El papel de la dopamina en los pacientes no deprimidos con antecedentes de intento de suicidio

Resumen

Se dispone de varios datos sobre la implicación del sistema dopaminérgico en el control de la agresión dirigida hacia dentro. Propusimos anteriormente una implicación de la función dopaminér- gica D2 en la expresión de la conducta suicida demostrando una respuesta más pequeña de la hormona del crecimiento (HC) a la apomorfina, un agonista dopaminérgico, en pacientes deprimidos con antecedentes de intento de suicidio en comparación con pacientes que no habían intentado suicidarse. Para someter a prueba esta hipótesis, se midieron en el presente estudio las respuestas de la HC a la apo- morfina intravenosa en pacientes no deprimidos con antecedentes de intento de suicidio. El estudio se realizó en 17 pacientes varones no deprimidos con una puntuación inferior a 12 en la HAMD de 17 elementos. Se subagrupó a los pacientes según hubieran intentado suicidarse (N = 7) o no (N = 10). Las respuestas pico medias de la HC a la apomorfina difirieron significativamente entre los pacientes que habían intentado suicidarse y los que no: (media ± DT) para el pico de HC, 10,4 ± 8,2 ng/mL frente a 27,3 ± 13,1 ng/ml, F = 9,0, P= 0,009. En conclusión, las perturbaciones dopaminérgicas parecen desempeñar un papel en la biología de la agresión dirigida hacia dentro en los pacientes no deprimidos.
