Seeking social media editors for Global Sustainability

Global Sustainability is seeking to appoint two part-time Social Media Editors. Global Sustainability places high value on efficient communication between the journal and the scientific community it serves.

 

Aim of the role

The aim of the Social Media Editor role is to increase awareness of and engagement with Global Sustainability using social media. This will be achieved through one role promoting a steady flow of journal news and related content on the journal’s Twitter account (minimum of one tweet a week) and one role commissioning monthly blog posts.

 

General Responsibilities

  1.  (Blog role only) To contribute a minimum of one blog post per month which should be either a commentary on a new article published, or a commentary on a related news item from the field of sustainability, linked to related papers. The blog post could either be self-authored or commissioned from an external author (including article authors themselves). 
  2. (Twitter role only) To promote editorial developments and news on the Twitter account; regularly post and comment on news from the field (several times a week); actively follow and comment on other relevant social media accounts;
  3. To inform the Marketing Executive of any potential marketing opportunities (specialist conferences, department events, etc.);
  4. To participate in brief Editorial team teleconferences addressing specific topics, when relevant;
  5. To act as an ambassador in the promotion of the journal and all its related activities (meetings, etc.).

 

Please note these roles are subject to an annual stipend of £500 per role and are intended to be suited to a post-doc or PhD student working within the subject area.
