This article is based upon six papers read, and the discussions which ensued, at a weekend conference on Current Legal Problems of the West Indies in September 1962. Authors of the papers are named infra, but the opinions expressed herein are those of the writer and would not necessarily meet with the agreement of the authors. The writer and Prof. O. R. Marshall, with the assistance of Mr. N. J. O. Liverpool, are writing a book on The Development of the Laws an Constitutions of the West Indies. The project is being generously sponsored by the Nuffield Foundation.
