(x) A number of preliminary studies have been carried out at the instigation of the Commission. They include research into the effects of differing taxation systems on the integration process. This was carried out by a committee of experts headed by Professor Neumark and the committee’s report is to be published shortly.

+ This lends point to the representations made by the Commission to the Council about staff requirements (see Chapter XI below).
