Summary

Sixteen varieties of groundnuts were included in a variety trial at three locations in 3 years in Western Nigeria. Significant ‘variety x environment’ interactions were observed, indicating that none of the varieties possessed wide adaptation. It is suggested that Western Nigeria be divided into sub-areas for which varieties showing specific adaptation could be developed.
