page 281 note 1 A major source of data on the textile industry was Davison's Textile Blue Book. This trade publication has never before been used for a detailed study of the industry, although it has been published annually since the 1860's. After some compilation of individual mill data, we have a substantial source of information on a county level, information unavailable for these years from census publications.
