Releasing incisions of the tympanic membrane in type III tympanoplasty

Abstract

Myringostapediopexy may be used as part of tympanoplasty following mastoid operations. We describe a technique of placing releasing incisions on the tympanic membrane to ensure good contact between it and the stapes head.
