Abstract

This paper describes the four main functions of radar in the Merchant Navy, expresses views on the controversial matter of mode of display and indicates possible solutions to the problem. Mention is also made of the desirability of properly engraving the relative bearing ring and the necessity of being able to take true and relative bearings at one and the same time if required.
