1 As stated above, I do not here discuss the question of the ultimate origin of these -h -roots. I may, however, point out that, if we connect the Dardic rostu with the Persian rastan, then Horn's reference (GIP. 607) to the Persian rah, a road, can hardly be accepted. 2 In Lallā-vākyāni, p. 137, I derived this word from sârthakaḥ ; but I have since abandoned that explanation.
