Polynomials like (x + l)x(x - 1) or 5 (x - 2)(x - 4)(x - 6)(x - 8) are particularly easy to sketch because their zeros are real, distinct and equally spaced along the x-axis. As a simple exercise, please picture in your mind the graph of

y=(x-1)(x-2)(x-3)(x-4)(x-5)(x-6)(x-7)(x-8)
