Footnotes

1

The data from Shaw Cave are being made available in this form through the courtesy of the National Park Service under whose auspices they were long ago recovered. The Shaw Cave site is an important one which, one hopes, will one day be revisited and given the additional study it deserves. In fact, such a revisit is contemplated by the University of Wyoming departments of Anthropology and Paleontology (Mulloy, personal communication).

Note

2 The chief reason for publishing the Shaw Cave collections as an appendix to this report lies in the specimens themselves, which show marked similarities to the Wendover cave collections, as well as to important sites in the Plains region.
