Fuzzy mediators

Scanning electron micrograph of two innate immune cells, called macrophages, on a scaffold made of lyophilized Type 1 collagen, cross-linked with liquid formaldehyde. Macrophage protrusion is visualized reaching for another part of the collagen scaffold.
