Pillaring of Layered Double Hydroxides With Cage-Like Polysilicates: a Possible New Class of Base Catalysts or Catalyst Precursors

Abstract
Pillaring of highly basic layered double hydroxides (MgnAl(OH)2n+2Cl, n=2–5) with octameric polysilicate (Si8O208-) has been achieved via a direct ion exchange route.
