* Most of the following documentary surveys, relating to Netherlands State Practice, International Agreements, Judicial Decisions, Literature, and Legislation, are based on documentation carried out by the Public International Law Department of the T.M.C. Asser Institute, and are – and will normally in the future be – edited by staff members of the Institute. For that reason the systematic classification scheme used in the surveys is also the one employed in the above mentioned Institute for its documentation in the field of public international law.

With regard to national legislation, quite often municipal statutory regulations are enacted in various fields having relevance to international law. In so far as it would not be possible to present adequately such legislation in the survey of state practice, we propose to reproduce the whole part of (a translation of) the text, or include a descriptive or analytical survey of such regulations.
