A New Trematode Parasite of Acipenser sturio L. (Royal Sturgeon), with a description of the Genus Dihemistephanus Lss.

On November 14th, 1929, the writer examined a Royal Sturgeon, Acipenser sturio L., for trematode parasites. Up to the time of writing, this is the largest Sturgeon landed at Swansea, measuring 11 ft. long, 4 ft. 9 in. girth, and weighing 565 lb.; it was captured west of Lundy in the Bristol Channel by the steam trawler Conway Castle of the Consolidated Fisheries Ltd., Swansea.
