Abstract

In this paper we perform empirical tests on the expectations of demand made by the firms. We use qualitative panel data from quarterly tendency surveys in industry. We verify the validity of rational expectation hypotheses on aggregated level, according to the economic and size characteristics of the firms and taking into account explicitly the qualitative aspect of individual responses. We study particularly the aggregation problem.
