^{page 49 note 1} At this point it may be interesting to note a chance attraction to the number 13. The piece was completed on 13 December, 1968, premièred on 13 November a year later, and its duration is also around 13 minutes. When asked about this, the composer brought up several other facts and dates, which quite coincidentally had also frequently involved the number 13. The latest example of this is the London premiere of the Concerto No. 3, which took place on 13 June 1975, by the London Mozart Players in Queen Elizabeth Hall under the baton of Gervase de Peyer.
