Cambridge University Press is delighted to announce a new appointment to the editorial team of Twentieth-Century Music. From January 2024, we welcome Jonathan Goldman as co-editor of the journal.
Jonathan Goldman is Professor of Musicology at the Faculty of Music of the Université de Montréal. His research focusses on modernist/avant-garde music in a regional perspective. His publications include Avant-Garde on Record. Musical Responses to Stereos (Cambridge, 2023), an award-winning monograph on Pierre Boulez (Cambridge, 2011) and three edited volumes (including The Dawn of Music Semiology, with Jonathan Dunsby). From 2006 to 2016, he was Editor-in-chief of the journal Circuit, musiques contemporaines. Jonathan also performs on the bandoneon, having been a soloist with such orchestras as I Musici de Montreal, Signature Symphony Tulsa and Symphony Nova Scotia. In 2015, he won a Juno award alongside the other members of the Canadian tango ensemble Quartango for best instrumental album as well as two Opus Prizes.
Cambridge University Press extends its deep gratitude to Alejandro L. Madrid at Harvard University, who stepped down from his role as co-editor at the end of December 2023. We would like to thank him for his brilliant work on the journal, as well as his commitment, leadership and kindness.
