Control of Woollyleaf Franseria with 2,4-D

Abstract

Treatment of woollyleaf franseria, Franseria tomentosa Gray, with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) at three locations in Nebraska showed that June treatments were much more effective in reducing the stand than those made in July and August. The isopropyl ester and butoxyethanol ester of 2,4-D were somewhat more effective than the triethanolamine salt. Rates of 2 and 4 lb/A gave the most consistent results.
