Abstract

The objective of this paper is to discuss the opportunities and challenges for PwD in becoming a successful entrepreneur. To describe the current situations and challenges in availing entrepreneurial development opportunities by PwD, the study reviewed secondary data, articles, and reports published in the field of disability. All the studies published on PwD living in India were included. Different keywords were used to explore studies published in the context of the research objective. The study concludes that, despite the availability of opportunities for entrepreneurship development for Indian youth in general, PwD experience multiple challenges in availing of these opportunities. There is a policy gap in the equitable distribution of these opportunities for PwD. There is a need to address socio-cultural barriers limiting the potential of PwD. Policies emphasizing inclusiveness and providing equal entrepreneurial opportunities for PwD have been recommended.
