Summary
A 60-year-old man developed low back pain along with flu-like symptoms. He had returned to Northern Ireland from a nine-day trip to Florida one month before his presentation. The pain increased over a few hours. The pain radiated from his right lower back into his groin and right upper leg as far as his right knee. He felt nauseated, faint-like and experienced severe pain. He was admitted to hospital.
