lET's Count Census 2021

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) provides a fantastic set of fourteen lesson plans covering the key areas of the English and Welsh curriculum. The lesson plans help to teach children about the importance of the census and how the information collected helps local areas. The lessons are accredited by Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE) and the Geographical Association. The lessons cover: What is the census?; NHS and the census; Our school census; Equality, representation and the census; I count; Time travel detectives; Changing population; Working life in the past; Creating a time capsule; Lets count our local area; Planning for the future; and The year of the last census. It includes videos to use with the lesson plans and resources for children and parents. Excellent.
