Summary

A

Breife Regester

or

Alphabeticall Catologue

of such sainctef <& sainct like persons> as the Collector hathe

taken notice of, to haue graced

our Island of great Brittaine,

Ireland and other British

Islands bordering about

it, with there Births,

deaths, prestine

Preachings or

Relicks.

A Sonnet

To the Curteous and well minded

reader, shewing the Collectors

resolution:

If this my labour serue but for a foyle

to lend a luster to som learned quill

to perfect this my vndertaken toyle,

I haue my wishe althoughe I want my will:

depriude of helpe and destitude of skill,

whoe wholy in this work applied my penn

to honnor God and not to humor men.

If he be pleas'd, I haue my harts desyre,

wishing good myndw in doubts to deame the best,

and for my paines I seek noe better hyre

of such as are with scorne and spleene possest

but base contempt with which content I rest.

Beleiue well, & Hue well, & hope well for Bliss,

Farewell, & wish well, to him that wrote this.

A frindly warning to the reader, wishing him to haue

due respect and reverence of Saincter and not to

reiect the true writers of there lives,

many of them being also Sainctef.
