Denton R. St Mary (Not a peculiar. Entred rightly p. 404). Mr Postlethwayt, by his Will dated 5 Sept. 1713. gave the Advowson to the ABP of Canterbury for the Time being, in trust that he should collate [present] a Fellow, or one who had been Fellow of Merton Coll. Ks books 24£. Now called 250£ (See below). Postlethwayte was Master of St Pauls School, & said to be so by ABP Tenisons Recommendation. Knights Life of Colet, p. 385. Mr Sandby saith 1750, that it is but 150£ a year exclusive of the Taxes.

Castle Rising al East Rising R. in the Deanery of Lynn. In Dr Tanners Book of the Diocese of Norwich it is said, I think from Domesday Book, to be locus exemptus ab omni Jurisdictione episcopali & archidiaconi, exceptis inductis, quae pertinent ad archidiaconum. It stands as a Peculiar in the Parochial Book of 1663 fol 65.

North Wotton R [V. Ecton (who calls it V)]. in the Deanery of Lynn. 24 Nov. 1605 Adam Furnes1 MA was instituted by Sir Edw. Stanhope Vicar General to the Vicarage of Northwotton in the County of Norfolk under the immediate Jurisdiction of the See of Canterbury, lawfully vacant, to which he was presented by the King, the true & undoubted Patron. Reg. Bancroft fol. 271. It stands as a Peculiar in the Parochial Book 1663 fol 65.

Roy den al. Rydon R. in the Deanery of Lynn. It is said in Dr Tanners Book I think from Domesday Book to be within the Liberty of Rysing [see here p. 332] & to have the same Exemption. It stands as a Peculiar in the Parochial Book of 1663 fol 65.

26 June 1613. Tho. Ridley LLD Vicar General instituted Richd Goldinge MA to the Rectory of Southwotton in the Diocese of Norwich & immediate Jurisdiction of the See of Canterbury, vacant by the Death of the last Incumbent, to which he was presented by the King, the true & undoubted Patron Reg. Abbot part 1 fol. 396b.
